Diy Electronic Bird Repeller

Electronic bird repellers combine well with the traditional scarecrow.

Bird droppings are unsanitary and can eventually discolor wood, paint and even cement. Birds may also attempt to nest in areas around the home where they are not welcome. Birds of prey will feed on pond fish if given an opportunity, while other species are attracted to fruiting trees or newly planted vegetable seeds. For all these reasons, many homeowners want to discourage birds from visiting areas of the home or garden. Fortunately, it is possible to electronically repel birds without resorting to violent means, such as shooting or trapping.

Instructions

1. Dig a 1-foot deep hole in the area where birds are not welcome.

2. Nail the 4-foot doweling stick horizontally 1-foot from the top of the 6-foot stick, which should be vertical positioned. The sticks should resemble a cross when nailed together.

3. Place the 6-foot doweling stick into the hole and fill the hole in with small stones and

dirt.

4. Use the extra-long cable tie to secure the electronic bird repeller to the doweling stick

frame just below the point where the two sticks cross. Ensure that the built-in speaker

faces outward.

5. Position the old shirt on the frame, so that each end of the 4-foot doweling stick goes through one of the sleeves of the shirt. Do not button the shirt, as the motion of the material blowing in the breeze will be an added visual deterrent to the birds. You also do not want to muffle the sounds from the electronic bird repeller, which is your main deterrent. The best deterrent results are obtained when the auditory repeller is backed up with an impressive visual display.

6. Blow air into the balloon and tie a knot in the end. Tie the 8-inch piece of string

around the end of the balloon.

7. Draw two large eyes with the permanent marker, onto the balloon. Draw a number of sharp teeth onto the balloon.

8. Tie the balloon onto the top of the 6-foot-long doweling stick. The stick, shirt and balloon frame should now resemble a scarecrow.

9. Set the electrical repeller to the frequency of your choice. Different species of birds will be frightened away by different frequencies.

10. Set the volume to your preference.

11. Plug the electrical cable into an outdoor wall plug. Make use of an extension cable if the scarecrow is some distance from the closest power source.
