Remove Tough Bug Stains From A Fiberglass Boat

Fiberglass boats are highly prone to bug stains that are difficult to remove.

Fiberglass is the material most commonly used in the manufacturing of boats. It can be difficult to clean, as fiberglass scratches and damages quite easily. Many bugs can strike the boat when it's in use and create hard-to-remove stains. There are a few steps that can be taken in order to remove these stains while leaving your boat in ideal condition.

Instructions

1. Wipe down the boat with a damp cotton cloth to remove any loose surface stains.

2. Fill a spray bottle with 1/2 cup vinegar and 1/2 cup water. Spray the bug stains until drenched, and wipe them away with a cotton cloth.

3. Mix 1 cup of detergent with 1 gallon of hot water in a bowl. Wearing rubber gloves, soak a sponge in the water and wring it out. Scrub the stains using a counterclockwise motion until they disappear.

4. Apply car wax onto the boat to lessen the damage from future bug stains and create an easier cleaning process.
