Directions For Using Sevin Bug Killer

Use Sevin concentrate to kill insects.

Insects and other pests can make the joys of gardening less than joyful. A number of commercial products are available that you can use to prevent these unwanted garden visitors. One such product is called Sevin, an insecticide. The concentrated version of this product, for example, is effective at killing insects in larger gardens and is safe enough for use around delicate fruits. Knowing the proper directions for Sevin bug killer use will help ensure the effectiveness of the product. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Mix the Sevin mixture according to recommend concentrations. Different plants can handle different amounts of insecticide without damage. The bottle of concentrate will have a chart that helps you determine the appropriate water-to-concentrate ratio.

2. Shake the container to mix it thoroughly. Remove the storage cap and place the sprayer into the bottle. Pump the handle on the sprayer five to ten times to concentrate pressure inside the container.

3. Point the sprayer at the intended plants in the garden and pull the trigger to spray it. Start at the farthest end of the garden and work to the other end. While the treated areas are wet, avoid physical contact with them. Repump the handle as necessary to restore the pressure for proper spraying. You will know it is time to pump again when the spray stops coming out. Allow the treatment to dry completely before reentering that part of the garden.

4. Repeat treatments weekly until the pest problem is gone. When you repeat treatments, mix the concentrate the same way you did previously. Pump the handle and spray again.
