Mosquito netting can protect sleepers from bug bites.
Mosquito netting is a useful material if you'd like to enjoy the outdoors without being chewed up by insects. Although netting can be used to cover vehicles, hammocks or workshop entrances, one of the most common uses is to seal off a porch or patio area during warm months when mosquito activity is high. You can save yourself some money by purchasing your netting by the yard and cutting it to fit your project. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Measure the area you want to cover with mosquito netting. Add a 4-inch margin all around to the dimensions.
2. Measure a side of netting with the measuring tape. Place the straight edge where you would like to cut the netting. Press firmly on the straight edge and make your cut with the craft knife.
3. Fold over 2 inches on each side of the netting. Bind all the edges with double stitching on the sewing machine, creating a 2-inch webbing all around.
4. Place Velcro all around the 2-inch margin of the netting.
5. Place Velcro strips all around the edges of the area to be sealed. Attach the netting at the Velcro strips, carefully sealing all the edges.
