Control Insects With Vinegar In A Bottle

An organic vinegar solution repels insects and is non-toxic.

Insecticides contain chemicals that can be harmful to humans, animals and plants, but there is a natural alternative. Vinegar, an organic replacement to toxic commercial insecticides, is safe to use in and around the house and is not toxic to humans or animals. A vinegar solution in a spray bottle makes a handy insect repellent to have on hand and, although the scent of vinegar is rather strong, you do not have to worry about toxic fumes. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Thoroughly clean an empty spray bottle.

2. Fill the bottle three-quarters full with warm water.

3. Pour vinegar into the bottle, filling it to the top. You now have a solution of 3 parts water to 1 part vinegar.

4. Replace the lid on the bottle and shake the water and vinegar to mix together.

5. Spray the solution around crevices that bugs are using to enter your house. Allow it to dry. The scent of the vinegar will repel the insects.

6. Spray unwanted bugs directly with the vinegar solution. While it does not kill all types of bugs, it will help drive them away.

7. Spray ants and ant hills. Spray the mounds daily until the ants are gone.

8. Spray around plants that have pest problems, but do not spray the plant directly.

9. Spray down countertops if you notice ants or other bugs on them. Wipe counters with a clean cloth.

10. Spray yourself with the spray when you are in an area with lots of mosquitoes and flies.

11. After bathing a dog, spray it down with the solution to repel fleas and ticks.
