Get Rid Of A Mosquito Bite Itch

Mosquitoes are prevalent in areas with standing water, such as swamps.

Mosquitoes, for the most part, are nothing more than annoying. They buzz around you and bite your skin, drawing out blood. When they extract blood from your skin, they replace it with a venom that irritates your skin. Because your skin is irritated you begin to scratch it, and the bite seems to get itchier and itchier. Rather than scratch your skin until it becomes raw or breaks open, you can find relief from the mosquito bite with supplies from home.

Instructions

1. Ice cubes provide relief from mosquito and other bug bites.

Fill a clean washcloth with ice cubes to make a cold compress. Hold the compress against your mosquito bite to reduce swelling and numb the area so it doesn't itch. Use your cold compress for up to ten minutes at a time, as needed.

2. Mix three parts baking soda with one part water and one part meat tenderizer in a bowl. Stir the ingredients together with a spoon to make a paste.

3. Dab the baking soda paste on your mosquito bite to relieve itching. Allow the paste to dry on your skin and reapply throughout the day, as you need it.

4. Dry bar soap relieves itchiness from mosquito bites.

Rub the end of a dry bar of soap over your mosquito bite in between using your paste. Leave the soap on your skin to stop the itching. Wash the soap off before applying more baking soda paste.
