Toy Radio Helicopter Instructions

Learn to fly a toy radio helicopter with a few basic instructions.

Radio-controlled helicopters come in many shapes and sizes. Although large, professional radio helicopters require a great deal of practice to operate effectively, toy radio helicopters are much easier to control. Whether you are using a toy helicopter made by Air Hogs, Syma or any other toy radio helicopter manufacturer, there are several techniques you can use to ensure a safe and pleasant flying experience. With a bit of patience and practice, you can learn to fly a toy radio helicopter like a pro.

Instructions

1. Visit a local park, open soccer field or any other large grass field. Find an area without trees, buildings or any other objects that could obstruct your helicopter's flight.

2. Insert a fresh set of the appropriate batteries into the radio controller, and then power on the toy radio helicopter using the "On/Off" switch.

3. Hold the toy helicopter in your hand, firmly gripping it from the base of the helicopter body. Test the helicopter blades and any other moving parts by pressing the remote control's directional sticks in every direction.

4. Place the toy radio helicopter on a level grass area. Use the accelerator stick on your remote control to gradually increase the speed of the blades until the helicopter is hovering three to four feet above the ground. Use the directional controls to rotate the helicopter on a horizontal axis and to move it both backwards and forwards. Keep the helicopter within 30 feet of you to avoid losing radio reception.

5. Land the toy helicopter by slowly decreasing the pressure on the accelerator control. Allow the radio-controlled helicopter to gradually descend until it is back on the grass. Adjust the blades and tail rotors if the helicopter tilts while in flight or if it is difficult to control.
