Natural Cockroach Repellent

Repel roaches with natural remedies, rather than chemical ones.

Cockroaches thrive in dark places, like under your sink and in upper cabinets. Since the roaches prefer nighttime, you may not even be aware of the problem. Once you identify cockroaches in your home, treat the problem with natural repellents. Does this Spark an idea?

Diatomaceous Earth and Beer

Diatomaceous earth and beer are natural ways to repel roaches. Diatomaceous earth is a powder product that kills roaches, by cutting through the pest's body. Place beer-soaked bread slices in a can under the sink to repel roaches.

Garlic, Bay Leaves and Catnip

Dried garlic and bay leaves can be sprinkled around areas with known cockroach activity. Dried catnip placed in cabinets and on counters also repels cockroaches.

Prevention

Keeping your house clean reduces the risk of a cockroach infestation. Clean and vacuum regularly, and throw away the vacuum bag or empty the canister after each cleaning. Roaches can escape from the vacuum.
