Coffee As A Repellent

Coffee grounds act as a natural repellent.

Coffee grounds have several uses, including acting as a natural repellent to insects and animals. Caffeine is toxic to pests such as snails and slugs, and the strong odor of coffee grounds is unpleasant to some animals. Natural repellents are optimal, as they do not contain harmful chemicals. Does this Spark an idea?

Garden Pests

Coffee is useful as a natural repellent for ants, snails, worms and slugs. You can simply sprinkle the grounds in problem areas in the garden, or mix coffee grounds with hot water and apply where needed.

Fleas

Coffee also acts as a flea repellent on dogs and cats. Coffee is most effective when applied after shampooing a pet, while the fur is still wet. Rub the grounds through the fur and down to the skin. Rinse and dry the pet as usual.

Stray Cats

Stray cats can harm a garden by digging up plants and urinating throughout it. When mixed with orange peels, coffee grounds act as a natural repellent for stray cats. Spread the coffee-grounds-and-orange-peel mixture around the plants in the garden.
