Naturally Reduce Your Mosquito Population

Mosquitoes are not only annoying, they can transmit diseases to people and pets. Reducing them around your home will make your outdoor experiences more comfortable and safe. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. One of the best ways to reduce mosquitoes is to invest in some muscovy ducks. These ducks are ugly, but they eat mosquitoes and their larva as well as a host of other insects and spiders. They will also clean up feed from other animals like livestock grain or even dog food. Muscovy ducks don't require a pond or lake, they will be fine with a plastic wading pool. Getting ducks might not be a viable option for many people but if you have a farm or large amount of property that tends to be wet, they can be useful.

2. Don't let water stand around. Tip over buckets and bowls and whatever else holds water. Mosquitoes lay eggs in stagnant water so eliminating breed grounds for mosquitoes will go a long way to reducing them.

3. Add apple cider vinegar to your dog's bowl or livestock water tanks. This will not only kill mosquito larva but will keep the tank/bowl cleaner and will also help reduce flies.

4. Eat garlic. You've heard that before for people but garlic can also be fed to animals to help protect them from mosquitoes as well.
