Build A Misting Fountain

Sit by your fountain to de-stress, because its gentle mist is relaxing.

A misting fountain is a great feature to add to your home because it works as a mini humidifier and adds a distinctive piece of decoration. The misting fountainhead on the submersible pump creates a foggy mist over the fountain that adds moisture to the air. The misting fountain can be set indoors or outdoors as long as the pump is protected from the elements. Building a misting fountain is a relatively simple DIY project that usually requires less than an hour to complete. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Set a ceramic container in the desired spot, being sure it is in an area where it will be protected from the elements and within reach of an electrical outlet.

2. Place a submersible pump with misting fountainhead in the bottom of the ceramic container.

3. Add water to a depth that is 1 1/2 inches above the pump. Plug the pump into an electrical outlet so that the pump turns on. Adjust the misting effect by adding water to the ceramic container.

4. Add accessories, such as stones, plants or statues, around the pump.

5. Add water to the ceramic container periodically so the pump is always submersed.
